What is PEMF?

We have exciting news to share with our health and wellness invested patients.
Compass Balance and Posture is now offering state of the art Pulse PEMF sessions.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field technology (PEMF) is a non-invasive, restorative modality [1] that causes cellular change to support immune function, mitochondrial health, improve blood flow [2], and reduce physiological deficits associated with delayed-onset muscle soreness [3]
Much of PEMF research has been led by NASA, since astronauts would experience muscle atrophy, bone loss and delayed wound healing in an environment outside of earth’s typical gravitational field. PEMF has been shown in various studies to have profound effects on mammalian cells.
PEMF works by altering the electromagnetic properties of your cells. You can think of it like recharging and exercising your cellular batteries. Normal and healthy cells have a resting membrane potential of -70mV, while damaged or diseased cells often have a higher than normal resting potential.
PEMF helps to restore cellular voltage and normalize resting membrane potential by interacting with electric sensitive channels at the cellular level. The result? Greater cellular healing.
PEMF is not a condition specific treatment, but rather takes advantage of the human body’s natural recovery process, encouraging cells to better perform their various functions.
Benefits of PEMF therapy
- Anti-inflammatory
- Encourages immune function
- Stimulates bone, cartilage and nerve healing
- Accelerates post-exercise recovery
- Increases blood circulation
- Enhances sleep quality
Disclaimer: Pulse PEMF should not be used to diagnose, treat, or cure any physical or medical condition. Pulse PEMF products have not been evaluated by the FDA and are meant for general wellness. You must be an existing patient to access our PEMF technology.
