It’s All Connected
While we focus our efforts on correcting misalignments of the upper neck, we see many patients with mid and lower back pain as well. We know that the rest of the spine will always follow the head, so when the head and neck are tilted to one side and off balance, it leads to downstream effects on the entire spine. The rest of the body will begin to compensate.

Head tilt will lead to unleveling of the shoulders, and then uneven hips and a short leg. This imbalance through the shoulders and hips leads to chronic stress that eventually leads to shoulder complications and one-sided hip or knee replacements. Think of a car that is no longer in alignment. The steering wheel begins to pull more to the right or left, and tires on one side will begin to wear out more. Once the car is realigned, the tires start working together again. Similarly, when the upper neck is properly aligned, the body no longer has to compensate, and we see improvements with shoulder function, hip, and even knee issues.
